_'LIFE IN THE PAST LANE' - REFLECTIONS IN A REVIEW MIRROR'
|
Where did these comments come from? They were written on the feedback sheets which participants completed after the Life Story Writing Workshop, held at the Omokoroa Country Estate in Omokoroa, Bay of Plenty. |

_The use of clustering tools, how to write using the senses and triggers
to stimulate recollection of past events, soon had the creative juices flowing. And topics such as Life's Turning Points,
Family, Relationships and Your Major Life's Work formed the basis of two-page
essays which each member wrote about each week to begin the recollection
process. Reading and sharing these pages proved to be
an enriching, valuable and for some, therapeutic exercise. In fact the fifteen participants found the
sessions so useful that they requested a follow-up session six months later.
The follow-up session proved to be so beneficial that many have decided to get together regularly as a group in the future - an outcome which I, as a facilitator and Personal History advocate, am delighted with!
