Typically I work with the
elders themselves or the adult children of older family members who seriously
want to capture the stories of their elders while there is still time and they
can't do it themselves.
My clients really appreciate the empathy we bring to the client relationship, the attention to detail and the high quality of the work that we do. When my father turned 80 I suggested that he write his memoirs. By the time he was 90 I could see that this wasn't going to happen unless I took some initiative. I couldn't leave these memories unrecorded so set about constructing his life story and sifting through piles of memorabilia, gleaning the treasured 'nuggets' to be included.
In the process I discovered other families who wanted to do the same thing for their loved ones but, faced with the daunting task of piles of memories, photographs and personal paraphernalia, weren't sure where to start. So a service to help others preserve their treasured memories was born. |
